How to Crab Responsibly

CLAWSTRO.jpg

We love crabbing, but whenever you’re out there looking to admire these amazing animals, don’t forget that they’re living creatures that get stressed and hurt just like us.

Here are a few easy tips to make sure everyone involved has a great time:

- You don’t need a bucket, if you find them under a rock, just observe them there.
- Make sure to use sea water in your bucket if you are using one.
- Put in some seaweed and rocks so they’re not too scared.
- If you are using a bait bag or a net, be gentle.
- Don’t put too many crabs in one bucket, they don’t like it.
- Change the water regularly.
- Don’t leave them in the sun and let them back into the water as soon as you’re done gawking over their crabby majesty.
