Join us on June 20th, 2026 for a guided 'Queer Ecology' tour with Connor the Ecologist around Margate to explore the diverse and unusual lifecycles of plants and animals.

Then back to the museum for Bi-Curious George's slimy exploration of trans-masculinity, hormones and being a pest. Celebrate sensuality, rotting and renewal in this drag-comedy that offers queer alternatives for anyone with a body.

With two sessions on the day @ 11.30am & 3pm

Each session will start at the museum at the designated start times.

From there, Connor will lead the talk around town/parks/seaside for around 45 minutes to an hour.

Then back to the museum for George's performance, with general Q&A afterwards.

Connor the Ecologist is a Queer entomologist and nature guide. He studies dung beetles and tries to connect people with the gross and misunderstood parts of the natural world. Over 3,500 people have joined his Queer Ecology tours so far. Instagram @Connor_the_ecologist

Bi-Curious George, once described by Graham Norton as "energetic and charming" and by The Spectator as "a chap, or maybe not a chap", Bi-curious George is an award winning drag king whose work centres around queer ecology. Through drag, comedy and theatre he shatters the heteronormative lens through which we view the natural world and empowers people to reframe their identities and their relationships to ‘nature’.

Salty, Wet - Lydia Wong - Art Exhibition - Crab Museum Presents

9th May, 2026
Join us for the opening night of Lydia Wong’s exhibition, Salty, Wet at LIMBO, Margate

Hong Kong artist Lydia Wong’s work is rife with crabs, whose transformative shell moulting is used in Wong’s work as a method through which we can interrogate the changing nature of Hong Kong identity.

Join us for the opening of Salty, Wet, as we interrogate and explore the Hong Kong archipelago, the crabs within it, and the political implications of ‘One Country, Two Systems’ on resistance and artistic expression.

Alongside Lydia’s work will be a selection of short Crab-centric talks from Crab Museum friends, examining philosophical angles to crabs and their representation in iconography.

8th May, 2026
Join us on the 8th of May as we partner up with Secret Mode Games to launch their newest video game EVERYTHING IS CRAB. This rogue-lite game follows a blob called Darwin as they navigate eating, and not getting eaten, to progress through stages of evolution.

We’ll be welcoming the game development team who will be explaining the ins-outs and round-abouts of crafting an educational crab themed video game.

Accompanying the game developers, Crab Museum residents will be giving a series of short talks on evolution, carcinisation and crab boinkies - obviously.

Crab Museum LATES

26th April, 2026
To celebrate International Crab Day 2026, we will be opening until 9pm on Sunday the 26th of April. Join us for an informal crab-themed ‘late-night’ hangout with future friends.
